Jardines de Waraira

Jardines de Waraira is more than an embroidered head band. For me it represents an adventure that started in Istanbul, Turkey with the idea of exploring new embroidering techniques; and ended in the US with the publishing of my own blog about design, the start of Tita Pattern Store and my migration journey.

Preparing the Soil

The design process started with the selection of images which colors were attractive to my eye, and wildflowers such as orchids, which is the national flower of my native Venezuela. Orchids like to grow in climate and soil like the one Waraira Repano National Park has; being this project named after it.

Planting the garden

The embroidering process took place gradually over a week. It was certainly a total exploration over the fabric, but keeping the sketches with shape reduction and the compositions samples as reference .

Blooming

The garden started blooming (final phase) once the embroidery was all sewn over the fabric and wrapping the headband.

Jardines de Waraira is a unique piece, with the possibility of being reproduced overtime. It's a fine and delicate piece for decorating the head.
